About Us

Prokiwi International Ltd was founded in 1996 by Rafe Hammett when he saw an opportunity in the market to provide quality souvenirs at an affordable price.

Proudly 100% New Zealand owned and operated, located in the heart of the South Island, Prokiwi operates from its own warehouse in Christchurch.

From the beginning Prokiwi has strived to lead the market in innovation and we have grown to become one of the largest souvenir wholesalers and a market leader of souvenirs in New Zealand, offering a variety of products including clothing, homeware, cosmetics, and general merchandise.

Prokiwi started producing skincare over 20 years ago. In 2016 we embarked on a new journey to provide Top Quality New Zealand Made skincare under the name of The Natural Land® and inspired by the natural beauty of our country. This new range is the preeminent range in status and using our international chemist we are enormously proud to offer this to you.

All Manuka Honey products from The Natural Land® are made with 90+% pure Manuka Pollen Honey.

What this means:

The creation of honey begins with bees collecting the nectar of a flower, which is then broken down by the bees into simple sugars and stored in honey combs. Next a process takes place to thicken the liquid into the form we call honey.

Due to the collection process of nectar it would be almost impossible to have a honey derived purely from one type of flower, for this reason the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) has developed criteria for determining whether a honey can be labelled monofloral.

There are two main methods for defining Manuka Honey in New Zealand, methylglyoxal activity (MG content) and a specified level of pollen (pollen count). For a honey to be classified as Manuka Honey, when using the pollen count method, it must be made from a minimum of 70% Manuka Pollen.

We are proud to state all The Natural Land® Manuka Honey skincare products are made with Manuka Honey that has been tested to have a minimum 90% Manuka Pollen count, which exceeds well beyond the required Manuka pollen percentage.
